Adina, Speech and Language Therapist

I truly love working for The Speech Service, with the flexibility being one of the most invaluable aspects - particularly as a parent, where balancing work and childcare can often be a challenge. Emma’s support extends far beyond the professional; she genuinely cares about your wellbeing and is consistently attentive to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I always feel guided, reassured, and fully supported, especially when navigating more challenging situations.

Suzanne, Speech and Language Therapist

I’m proud to be a part of The Speech Service Team. Emma clearly cares about the Therapists that are part of her team, as much as she cares about her clients. Everything is in place from an administrative perspective so that Therapists can focus on the work that is important to them. Emma is always approachable and has the gift of being a brilliant listener who takes a pragmatic  approach to any questions that may arise. It is a warm and supportive team to be a part of and I’m looking forward to more great therapy work ahead!

This may suit you if you:

  • are HCPC and RCSLT registered

  • want flexible private work alongside NHS, family life or other roles

  • value clinical governance and access to additional support when needed

  • would like the option of regular peer supervision and discounted 1:1 clinical supervision

  • don’t want to manage marketing or invoicing, and prefer a service where client enquiries, bookings and reminders are handled for you

  • are happy to travel to clients homes and/or schools via car or public transport

This role may not suit you if:

  • you are looking for employed work

  • you want to build your own independent brand

About Emma

The Speech Service was initially created during a period of transition in Emma’s own clinical work, when she moved her focus from paediatrics to adults and wanted to maintain the paediatric skills she had developed. Over time, Emma chose to focus fully on her adult caseload; however, paediatric enquiries continued to come through.

Emma recognised that the infrastructure and systems were already in place, and that by working with other like-minded speech and language therapists, The Speech Service could continue to support children and their families in a thoughtful, ethical and evidence-based way.

The Speech Service now has both adult and paediatric therapists. The service continues to grow, and we are always keen to hear from kind, reflective and evidence-based SLTs who are interested in flexible private work within a supportive service.

Emma will review submissions and invite suitable therapists for an informal, no-pressure chat.
Many therapists start with a small caseload and build from there.
